The biggest video game in the world is once again teaming up with the biggest movie in the world. Avengers: Endgame, the epic conclusion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is in theaters this weekend. And after being teased all week, now you can take the fight to Thanos yourself in Fortnite Battle Royale in the new limited event Fortnite: Endgame. This, of course, isn’t the first time the Mad Titan has menaced innocent flossing Fortnite players. Last year in celebration of Avengers: Infinity War a special event had players scrambling to get the Infinity Gauntlet. If they did they would turn into Thanos and just wreak havoc on their foes. It was appropriate considering how overwhelming Thanos is in that movie. But in Avengers: Endgame the heroes fight back, and now so do the other players. This new mode sounds like some asymmetrical, Spies vs. Mercs-style multiplayer. One team plays as an army of villainous Chitauri while the other plays as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes hunting for the Infinity Stones. Chitauri who get stones turn into Thanos while heroes quickly gain different Avengers weapons like Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s gloves, Hawkeye’s bow, Thor’s axe, Black Widow’s spy gear, and presumably Hulk’s pants. But definitely not the Infinity Blade. The six Infinity Stones themselves also grant perks like increased health, jump height, and attack strength. Considering the game goes on and players respawn until one side collects them all, you should have plenty of chances to see all this cool stuff in action… before you get snapped into dust at least. And once you’re finished you’ll earn Marvel swag like a quin-jet glider and new costumes. Fortnite Endgame starts now. Avengers: Endgame is in theaters now. They’re both going to make so much money. The most successful MMO ever released is fast approaching its tenth birthday later this year, and developer Blizzard is far from done with improving the game. That’s clear from the expansion pack Warlords of Draenor being released on November 13. But would they ever consider following up the game with a World of Warcraft 2? Most certainly. World of Warcraft game director Tom Chilton was asked that question this week by Game Informer. It turns out Blizzard has been thinking about a WoW sequel for the past decade–so ever since the first game hit store shelves pretty much. The difficulty, according to Chilton, is how exactly you’d go about implementing and launching it.
